Butter is a 7-8 month old GSD mix still looking for his forever family. He has been with us for the past week and has quickly won over our hearts. He is gentle with my sons who are 10 and 4. He took about 24 hours to get used to our high energy 5 month old resident female pup who wants to play non-stop. Now, if allowed to do so, they would wrestle all day long. I work from home, so he spends his weekdays lounging near my feet in my home office. He has had no accidents in the house. He usually bumps his nose against my hip if he needs to go outside. He sleeps quietly in his kennel all night (even during our recent loud thunderstorm) but needs coaxing to get in. He walks amazingly on a leash, even when walked by my 10 year old. He loves to play fetch with his favorite stuffed duck or balls. He’d make a great addition to a family with kids. I have a strong feeling he’d be a great hunting companion, as well.
Hey there! I'm Butter! I came to Happy Tails Rescue from South Dakota where I was a stray surviving outside. Being in a house was a bit strange at first, but I am really getting the hang of it! I am so happy that my foster family gives me a comfy bed and plenty of food. I can't wait for my forever family to find me, I know they will be great!

Happy Tails Adoption Center is open on Sundays from 12-5 and Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30. We are located at 7940 University Ave NE, Fridley. Dogs are at events based on the availability of their foster family.

The breeds of our dogs and cats are a "best guess." We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a "full grown size" of many of our younger animals.
Happy Tails Rescue Minnesota is located at 7331 Baker St NE, Fridley MN 55432.We are open for adoption events from 12-5 every Sunday. If there is a certain animal you want to meet at one the events please fill out a preadoption application to directly contact their foster family or check our Facebook page to see if they will be there! Their event attendance is based on the availability of their foster family.
All of our cats and dogs are INDOOR pets and are NOT to be left outside unattended (even in a fenced yard), or running loose!
